Oprah once said:
‘You don’t become what you want. You become what you believe.’

..and believe us we have seen that become true over and over again. People wanting to run out of the training room due to nerves but 6 months down the line they are truly grateful they stayed.

If you are at the start of your speaking career you might not fully believe that one day someone might pay you £1,500 or more to deliver a speech but instead of looking at the hundred reasons to give up, look at the thousand reasons not to.

GIVING UP is not an option – the beginning is always the hardest, especially when it comes to public speaking.

We have created those IMPACT PRINCIPLES to guide you along the way. I still remember to this day, it must have been 2014 and I was booked to speak at this event about falling in love with public speaking. I sat there feeling like a total fraud thinking to myself ‘who I am telling those people anything about speaking’ and in addition to that I was convinced that EVERYONE in the audience knew all those tips & tricks I had put together already. Shortly before I was called on stage I remembered this little card of our Impact Principles I got printed and carried in my wallet. On that day, it was principle no. 3 that helped me getting out of my head and deliver an amazing talk.

By the end of your Accelerator Programme, you will have truly internalise the wisdom those principles hold and we are looking forward to you receiving your first fee as a paid speaker.

1. STAGE TIME – Of course!

Someone invites you to speak, offers you their stage or looks for a volunteer in the audience. Your answer is always ‘OF COURSE’. Take every chance – drop every fear.

2. Dare to Bomb

We learn from failure NOT success. Be afraid of not giving it a GO. Feedback is never personal anyway – performance, feedback, revision.

3. It’s NOT about ME

It’s about ‘falling from your head into your heart’. Once you realise you are on stage to be of service and not to let your crazy voices make get into the way, your nerves will vanish.

4. With Vulnerability comes Power

Vulnerability is the most accurate measurement of courage. Our imperfections are marks of authenticity and that’s the beauty of humanity. Let yourself be seen. Be you.

5. The 3 most dangerous words: ‘I KNOW THAT.’

Our mind is like a parachute, it works best when open! Have you let ‘knowing’ something stop you from hearing it again – knowing versus owning. Bite your tongue and be open.

6. Always PLAY at 111%

Dare to go too far! Playing small means you’re comfortable, but not memorable. Greatness doesn’t come from playing small

7. Repetition creates MASTERY

Practise and train. Be on top of your market. Watch other speakers. Be hungry for coaching. Practise and train some more.

8. Take RESPONSIBILITY & Track your PROGRESS

There are only two options: make progress or make excuses. If the opportunity doesn’t exist: create it! Your success depends on what you put in.

Ensure to look back and see how far you have come!

NO matter how slow you think you progress – you are still overtaking EVERYBODY on the couch.

Loads of LOVE, Annik & Elliot x
